How I Got Here

My interest in journalism started in the quarantine days of the recent COVID-19 pandemic, where I found myself spending my days navigating through online news sources, sports or current events. This is where I first started to truly appreciate the value of good journalism, as at the time it was my only pathway into the world, which we were all cut off from due to the imposed quarantines.

In my sophomore year of high school, I joined Scot Scoop and the award winning culture that they have developed, allowing me to build on my newfound interest of journalism, which had previously allowed me to keep in touch with the outside world during the pandemic. I always knew sports writing was something that interests me, so I spent the majority of my sophomore year doing sports writing. While doing this, I found another passion: photography. I used these passions in photography and sports writing to push myself to produce better and better articles, eventually ending the year with a switch to more feature-style writing.

Outside of journalism, I am an avid baseball fan, both as a player and as a spectator. My passion for baseball and other sports alike fuel my passion for journalism, and I am excited to keep pursuing this pathway in the future.
